The Lakes 3000’s
Based in the heart of the Lake District National Park, our team has expert knowledge of the Lakeland fells. The Lakes 3000rs are the four highest mountains in England and consist of Scafell Pike 3029ft, Scafell 3162ft, Helvellyn 3117ft and Skiddaw 3054ft. There are various ways in which these mountains can be tackled.
2 Day Package
Broken down over 2 summits per day, our suggested itinerary would be to start the walk from Wasdale and ascend Scafell Pike, then head down to foxes tarn and take in Scafell on the return to Wasdale. The second day would then consist of Helvellyn, usually ascended from swirls car park at Thirlmere; followed by the final slog up Jenkin hill to the summit of Skiddaw giving a rewarding view down the whole of the borrowdale valley and on a clear day out to the Irish sea. Transport is provided from Keswick to the beginning of the walks each day. Walking routes and which order the hills are completed in may vary due to weather conditions and group ability.
Difficulty – Hard, previous hill walking would be beneficial. From £95 pp
1 Day Package
Not to be underestimated! The four hills are completed in the same day with a rest on the minibus journey in between! Scafell and Scafell Pike are often undertaken first, as these are the most difficult in terms of terrain. This allows Hellvelyn and Skiddaw, which are steep but slightly easier ground, to go at in the afternoon/evening. Also, depending on the time of year, a head torch is sometimes required to enable the completion of the final hill. As with all of our challenges, this event can be structured to meet your fitness level and ability on the hill.
Difficulty – Very Hard, prior hill walking experience and training is recommended. From £60 pp
